Open Mouth Literary Center is a community-based literary organization located in Fayetteville, Arkansas. We host a monthly reading featuring poets whose work we love. We also host an annual fall festival, monthly workshops, and a summer poetry retreat featuring visiting faculty. Sign up here to keep updated on our events.

Open Mouth strives to ensure that our events are accessible to a wide array of audiences by providing access copies to reader materials, ASL interpretation, and captioning. You can read more about these steps below and view our statement on access at this link.

If you wish to support these efforts, we accept donations via PayPal, Cashapp, and Patreon (or by cash or check!). We are a federal 501(c)(3) non-profit, and every dollar you contribute goes toward providing additional programming to our expanding community. We hope you'll join us in this work!

Announcements

Our Zoom programming may not be forever, but we're updating how we do things. All events will be held via Zoom with registration through Eventbrite. For security purposes, please use a registered Zoom account; you will receive a password via email. If you'd like to skip Eventbrite, sign up at our Patreon to receive the Zoom registration link directly!

We're working on creating sustainable, inclusive, and accessible programming that will apply to all of our future readings and workshops. Here are some steps we are taking:

  • Captions for all virtual readings and video recordings

  • Image descriptions for all images posted on social media

  • Updated accessible website design and layout (coming soon)

  • Access recordings of workshops via our YouTube channel or Patreon account if you can't make the workshop time

  • Solely work with accessible spaces once we can meet in person again

Have an idea about how Open Mouth can be more accessible for you? Please contact us and share your thoughts!
